110 years ago today, Charles Lindbergh was born in Detroit, Michigan. In 1927, he flew for 33.5 hours and 3,500 miles across the Atlantic in the world’s first non-stop solo flight. On May 1st, he crossed the French border, followed the River Seine, and touched down at Le Bourget Field at 10:22PM.  He was greeted by a mob of 100,000 people.

Upon landing, he asked “Am I here?”  ”Is this really Paris?”.  Happy Birthday, Charles.
